Ways to Donate

In encouraging women to become philanthropists, A FUND FOR WOMEN gives you many options to consider when making a donation. All funds are managed by The Madison Community Foundation.

I. Donors can donate either to:

  • A FUND FOR WOMEN'S Endowment Fund is preferred by donors who value a permanent fund that generates income yearly through interest that can be used for AFFW's annual grants. Begun in 1993 with $100,000, this fund is just over the $1 million mark.
  • A FUND FOR WOMEN'S Annual Grant Donations are preferred by donors who value giving a donation that will go directly to AFFW's annual grant program.

II. Donors can participate in the 1000 @100 Campaign.

  • This Campaign encourages women to donate $100 (for the Endowment Fund) and honor a woman who has been inspirational in your life. A story about this woman and a picture can be sent to AFFW and it will be posted on the AFFW website. All donors will be acknowledged and, if appropriate, a certificate will be sent to the honoree to notify her of the honor.

III. Donors can pledge an amount to be paid in installments.

  • For Example: A pledge of $1,000 could be paid in 4 quarterly or 4 yearly installments of $250.00 each.

IV. AFFW Named Funds

  • If donating $10,000 or more, a donor can set up an AFFW Named Fund. This is a wonderful way to set up a family fund, honor your children or someone else important to you. The annual income generated is designated for A FUND FOR WOMEN and funds can be added at any time.

V. AFFW Acorn Funds

  • Using the power of compound interest, Acorn Donors agree to pledge $10,000 and make at least $1,000 per year payments until the $10,000 goal is reached. Interest is reinvested and the The Madison Community Foundation charges no administrative fees until the fund reaches its $10,000 goal. At the time that the Acorn Fund agreement is signed, it is agreed that the income generated after the fund reaches $10,000 will be designated for AFFW. When the fund reaches $10,000, it becomes a AFFW Named Fund with the same advantages noted above.
