What influenced you to give to AFFW?
Education. I went to Smith College, a women’s college. I’m very aware of what a fortunate educational experience I had. I think it’s hard for women to get outstanding opportunities. But you start learning as an undergraduate at a women’s college that you give other women opportunities. I’m interested in women’s success.

That’s one of the reasons AFFW is so valuable because it focuses on women being the philanthropists and benefactors. The fact that we get such wonderful information about the grant process and the wonderful recipients makes people willing to give year after year.
