Tricia Motiff Stearns

Website User Interface Designer/Usability Expert

Tricia has worked as a Website User Interface Designer and Usability Expert for the Douglas Stewart Company for the past three years. The Douglas Stewart Company distributes computer products, consumer electronics, and school and dorm supplies to office supply stores and university bookstores (think of everything a student could use, and they probably have it) Her specialty is making websites more user-friendly.

Tricia graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, with a double major in Fine Arts and English. She has over 20 years experience in the Graphic arts, Advertising and Interactive Design, both in agency and in-house roles, including at Seroka and Associates, Ovation Marketing, Famous Footwear, Enzymatic Therapy, and Jockey International. (Yep, the underwear people.)

"I enjoy exploring all forms of communication, but I especially enjoy taking complex systems and making them straightforward and easy to figure out, improving a customer's total experience with a company. If the user doesn't notice what I've done because the experience flows so smoothly, I've done my job really well" states Tricia.

Tricia grew up in a household that encouraged philanthropy and giving back. Early on, she was encouraged to volunteer, and the idea stuck. Tricia has been with AFFW for nearly 3 years and feels that they are doing very important work for the community in general and women and girls in specific.

Tricia was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She is married to writer Dan Stearns, and enjoys many similar hobbies and interests with him. They have raised many dogs over the 18 years that they have been married, but currently they have only one mixed breed named Moxie who keeps them very busy.
